Acupressure

Acupressure is an ancient healing art that involves applying pressure on key points on the surface of the skin to balance the body's energy, which stimulates our natural self-curative abilities. When these points are engaged, muscle tension and pain are released, circulation is increased, healing is enhanced and the removal of toxic wastes is stimulated.

Aqua Chi Foot Detox

Aqua Chi Footbath, as believed in Reflexology, each of your feet is actually a channel, or conduit, through which your body attempts to cleanse itself of toxic wastes and heavy metals that build up in many parts of your body. The detox water footbath uses brass and stainless steel electrodes to cleanse, balance and enhance your bio-energy. This energy is the electro-magnetic force stored within the body and utilized by our cells. Chinese medicine refers to this energy as the "chi."

Common Uses
• To increase both physical and mental energy, vitality, and stamina
• To purge or detoxify the body of toxins, chemicals, radiation, pollution, synthetics, and other foreign material that have clogged up the body's systems of elimination.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy can be defined as using naturally extracted essential oils from plants to balance, harmonize and promote the health of body, mind and spirit. Essential oils are volatile, highly concentrated plant extracts derived from leaves, bark, roots, seeds, resins and flowers. Holistically speaking, aromatherapy can be used as both a preventative approach as well as an active treatment during acute and chronic stages of illness or "dis"-ease. In an aromatherapy session, the essential oils can either be diffused into the air or they can be mixed with a carrier oil like sweet almond or grapeseed to be massaged into the skin. Aromatherapy should not be confused with fragrances or perfume oils. Fragrances are often made from chemicals and lack the therapeutic properties of essential oils.

Bamboo Massage

Bamboo massage is a technique that incorporates bamboo stalks of varying lengths and diameters to provide deep-tissue work. The bamboo sticks are sometimes heated or essential oils are incorporated into the massage. This treatment promotes circulation, sensory nerve perception, and lymphatic drainage. In addition, bamboo is known for allowing deeply penetrating maneuvers while providing a sense of total relaxation and well-being. Combined with gentle heat, it rolls out tension, helps release tight muscles, and renews tissue cells.

Castor Oil Pack

Clinical evidence now confirms that castor oil packs improve eliminations, assimilations, lymphatic circulation, and even the production of certain T-cells. If your body absorbs nutrients, eliminates wastes, filters toxins, and bolsters the immune system more effectively; you are going to be a healthier person overall. During the session, castor oil and heat are applied over the abdominal area. Often times, the addition of essential oils that could benefit your specific requirements are also added.

Clinical Neuromuscular Therapy

All causes of pain share the commonality of trigger points. Trigger points are regions in muscles and soft tissues that are responsible for pain or discomfort felt in that same or another area of the body. Only a trained and licensed therapeutic massage therapist can locate and treat your individual trigger points.

Treatment for trigger points requires clinical massage that loosens the muscles and soft tissues surrounding an affected joint or nerve. Being trained in clinical massage, I use a variety of body work procedures appropriate to the individual person and their condition. These procedures include:

• Neuromuscular/myofascial therapy - a method of careful searching for trigger points and treatment of affected body regions.

• Fascial release - gentle manipulation of the fascial planes to release and normalize fascial sheathes (connective tissue that lies between your skin and muscles) that have distorted and are affecting circulatory and nervous system pathways.

• Positional Release - a very gentle release wherein the dysfunctional part is placed in a position of complete, pain-free relaxation and allowed to normalize its function during a 90-second period of neuromuscular reorganization.

• Post-isometric muscle release - a gentle facilitated joint movement method to assist a muscle in regaining a normal, relaxed length.

CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy is a very gentle and subtle hands-on manual therapy that evaluates and enhances the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surrounds and protects the brain and spinal cord, otherwise known as the craniosacral system. Using a very soft touch, the practitioner subtly manipulates the bones of the face, head and vertebral column which gently releases any restrictions which can then free movement and function as well as enhance the energy field surrounding the brain and spinal cord in order to restore balance. CranioSacral Therapy has been shown to help with headaches, neck and back pain, TMJ disorders, emotional difficulties, chronic fatigue, stress, fibromyalgia as well as many other disorders.

Cupping

Cupping is a method of stimulating acupuncture points and treating dysfuntion caused by local congestion. A vacuum is created in a cupping jar which is then applied directly on the skin. The underlying tissue is drawn up into the cup, producing blood congestion, which stimulates tissue.

Helpful for: low back pain, sprains, headache, soft tissue injuries, scarring, arthritis, adbominal pain, painful menstruation, and more.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is directed toward the deeper layers of muscle and fascia, as compared to Swedish or Relaxation Massage which are more superficial. There are many types of Deep Tissue Massage. The common goal of these therapies is to break up adhesions and fascial restrictions to decrease pain and increase range of motion and ease of movement.

Foot Treatment

Fine, natural white and brown sugars are massaged onto the feet to gently exfoliate the skin, while a blend of grapeseed and canola oils hydrate and nourish. Hot towels are applied to enhance the effect and organic jojoba is later massaged into the feet to condition and soothe the skin. Clients often report a noted reduction of pain.

Guided Imagery

Simply put, Guided Imagery is a form of meditation. After a client is talked into a light, relaxed state, he/she is directed by a therapist to "see" a specific situation or circumstance in his/her mind and then to allow the imagination to unfold into a story. It's much like having a dream in an awake state. This story that is experienced is literally tapping into the subconscious, where much truth can be learned. Whether addressing issues of health, tapping into buried emotions of a past trauma or learning new insights into self, this process allows the body to heal physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Healing Touch

Healing Touch is a passive touch used in such a manner as to help balance and align the human energy field. It also helps to release and normalize the nervous system from dysfunctional holding patterns. Healing Touch is a complementary (or integrative) energy therapy that can be used in conjunction with traditional therapies or as a stand-alone treatment.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot Stone Massage is a specialty massage that uses smooth, heated basalt stones. These stones are a black volcanic rock that absorb and retain heat very well. It is a deeply soothing, relaxing form of massage that helps "melt" muscle, soothe the nervous system and improve circulation. It also helps to flush away toxins and release pain.

Lymphatic Body Brushing/Skin Exfoliation

This service involves the therapist lightly brushing the surface of the skin with a natural bristled body brush. The benefits include: unclogging pores, removes the oldest dead skin cells on the surface, assists in the function of sweat and oil glands, stimulates the lymphatic system, increases blood circulation, rejuvenates the entire nervous system by stimulating nerve endings, may reduce cellulite deposits, can improve overall health and boost your immune system, while toning, smoothing and tightening your skin.

Lymphatic Drainage

Your lymphatic system assists your body in removing toxins and cellular waste by circulating a nearly colorless liquid called "lymph" to glands and toxin-filtering organs. Generally, you are aware of your lymphatic system when your lymph nodes become swollen during illness. During stress, injury, or illness the flow of your lymph fluid can become compromised and, as a result, lead to a build-up of fluid leaving you feeling fatigued, constipated, arthritic and headachy along with numerous other symptoms. To restore normal lymphatic flow, a manual therapy called Lymphatic Drainage Therapy (LDT) can help bring you back to good health. LDT uses very light, slow strokes to assist in restoring proper lymphatic circulation to a sluggish lymph flow.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a hands-on manual therapy which provides sustained pressure into myofascial restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. This type of body work addresses the connective tissue that surrounds, supports and attaches to every structure within the body - fascia. Fascia is actually one continuous structure itself that exists from head to toe without interruption. Therefore, if the fascia has been compromised in one area, the entire body can be adversely affected as an unnatural tension, tightness or restriction can result. This could cause pain, restriction of movement, reduction of function or flexibility or stability and other disorders.

On-Site Chair Massage

Most office-related physical symptoms can be attributed to loss of circulation. Tight muscles caused by stress and sitting in one position all day, especially at a work station that is not ergonomically designed, can impede blood and lymph flow throughout the entire body. The result is mental fogginess, decreased energy and susceptibility to repetitive stress injuries, like carpal tunnel syndrome. On-Site Chair Massage provides workplace massage usually in about 15 minute sessions per employee. It is done sitting in a specially designed massage chair as opposed to a massage table. The client remains completely clothed. Chair Massage has been shown to relieve fatigue, lower anxiety, stress and hostility, enhances creative thinking, improves problem solving, strengthens immunity helps prevent Repetitive Stress Injuries and lowers muscle tension and aches and pains.

Paraffin Bath

Sore, aching muscles and joints get quick relief with the TherabathPRO Paraffin Hot Wax Bath. It provides one of the most effective methods of applying heat therapy and delivering fast, drug-free relief of painful arthritis, bursitis and chronic joint inflammation. Penetrating paraffin wax heat therapy relaxes sore, tired muscles, relieves stiffness and muscle spasms. In addition, hot paraffin wax therapy stimulates circulation as well as moisturizing and nourishing dry skin. It also delivers temporary relief from minor pain and softens hands and feet. The unit automatically maintains a medically prescribed temperature. The unit's inner hot wax bath tank comfortably accommodates hands, wrist, feet (up to men's size 14), ankles and elbows.

Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy Massage is massage therapy specifically tailored to fit the needs of the expectant mother. It is important that the massage therapist you choose be certified in Pregnancy Massage. It is recommended that the mother-to-be wait until the second trimester to receive massage. In Pregnancy Massage, the mother's body is properly positioned and supported ensuring the comfort and safety for both the mother and the baby.

This type of massage has been shown to reduce anxiety and depression and to relieve the aches and pains associated with pregnancy. It also decreases swelling in the arms and legs and helps to alleviate back pain.

Seaweed Detox Treatment

Combines the detoxifying properties of sea algae with the hydrating and the exfoliating benefits of clay, sea salt, Brewer's Yeast (an excellent source of vitamin B) and Spirulina to provide metabolic stimulation and detoxification of the skin. Essential oils that could compliment the individual are also incorporated into the seaweed mixture. This, combined with heat, is applied to the skin of the back. When removed, organic jojoba is massaged onto the back to condition and soothe the skin.

Swedish Massage

Otherwise known as "Relaxation Massage," this type of massage uses firm but gentle pressure to improve circulation, ease muscle tension, aches and pains, improve flexibility and to encourage a deep state of relaxation.
